Dalljiet Kaur took to her Instagram stories recently to share a reflective message amidst her ongoing divorce proceedings with Nikhil Patel.
The actress expressed feelings of being betrayed and questioned those who witnessed the situation unfold without intervening. She wrote, “Ultimately, the key question will be: who recognized the injustice, acknowledged it in real-time, alerted me about it, regretted its occurrence, and had the courage to support me?”
Dalljiet also conveyed uncertainty about her future but expressed trust in God’s guidance for the path ahead. She expressed her curiosity about discovering who stood by her during this challenging time and who chose the easier path of neutrality. She emphasized leaving the future in God’s hands and allowing the universe to reveal the truth about the people around her, regardless of the duration of their relationships.
Reports of Dalljiet and Nikhil’s separation surfaced in February, ten months after their wedding, and Nikhil confirmed their split in May. He explained that Dalljiet’s relocation from Kenya to India with their son Jaydon highlighted underlying issues in their blended family’s foundation. Despite holding a ceremonial wedding in Mumbai in March 2023 for cultural reasons, their marriage was not legally binding.
Recently, Dalljiet sought legal protection in Nairobi City court to prevent Nikhil from evicting her and their son from their home in Kenya. Earlier, Nikhil had issued a legal notice to Dalljiet, alleging harassment after she publicly accused him of infidelity through social media posts, citing various Indian laws.
This marks Dalljiet Kaur’s second marriage, following her divorce from Shalin Bhanot in 2015 amid allegations of domestic violence.
