Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are one of Bollywood’s favorite couples. After dating for seven years, they tied the knot in June and openly express their affection for each other in public.

Recently, the couple appeared as special guests on the dancing reality show “India’s Best Dancer 4,” where Zaheer revealed that superstar Salman Khan played a pivotal role in bringing them together.

During the episode, host Jay Bhanushali asked the newlyweds if there was a matchmaker involved, to which Zaheer named Salman Khan. He recounted, “He was the first to notice. He called me and said that you are my family and she is also my family, so what’s happening between you two? I replied that we have genuine feelings for each other.”

Zaheer added that while they weren’t in love initially, they did have a liking for each other and would often talk for hours.

Before their marriage, Sonakshi and Zaheer kept their relationship private. At the recent CNN-News18 Mumbai Townhall 2024 event, they explained their reasons for maintaining that privacy and shared insights about their journey together.

Sonakshi mentioned the concept of “Nazar,” referencing the idea of shielding against negative energy. She stated, “I believe it’s best to keep private matters to oneself. With the spotlight on you, everyone knows your life, so something so precious should be kept private.”

Zaheer admitted he initially thought his feelings were just excitement. “I knew from the start she was the one, but I only acknowledged it later,” he shared.

On the professional front, Sonakshi was last seen in the horror-comedy “Kakuda,” alongside Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem. She is set to star in the upcoming film “Tu Hai Meri Kiran,” opposite her husband Zaheer Iqbal. The couple previously appeared together in the comedy-drama “Double XL,” which also featured Huma Qureshi and Mahat Raghvendra.
